CyberProtect Selected as Finalist in 2010 Serious Games Showcase & Challenge
Alexandria, VA, November 29, 2010 – The National Training Systems Association (NTSA) announced that the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) is a finalist in the 2010 Serious Games Showcase & Challenge (SGS&C) for "CyberProtect". "CyberProtect" is now eligible to win the distinction of "2010 Best Serious Game" in the category of Business.
Produced by Carney, Inc., in partnership with SAIC and DISA, “CyberProtect” teaches IT security professionals the fundamentals of information assurance (IA) at a network level. Players acquire IA protection measures, such as firewalls, virus protection, and security policies, and deploy these to their virtual network. Random cyber attacks threaten player networks, and attacks fail or succeed based on how well players execute their IA strategies.
"The success of CyberProtect in network security instruction proves that innovation and games are key in accelerating today's workforce performance," says John Carney, President and CEO.
As a finalist, "CyberProtect" will be featured at the SGS&C pavilion at the Interservice/Industry Training Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), where it will also be eligible for the coveted "2010 People’s Choice Award" determined by I/ITSEC conference attendees.
