CDSE Wins Silver & Bronze Omni Intermedia Awards
Alexandria, VA, February 28, 2011 – The Fall 2010 Omni Awards have been announced! Congratulations to the Defense Security Service’s Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE), for winning two Omni Intermedia Awards in both the Government and Educational award categories for its Storage Container and Facilities practical exercise and Special Access Program (SAP) Overview. Based on the Omni Awards’ multimedia criteria, which include creativity, graphics, programming, ease of use, functionality, audio, special effects, and impact, the Storage Container and Facilities practical exercise received a silver and the Special Access Program (SAP) Overview received a bronze.

Produced by Carney in partnership with the CDSE, the Storage Container and Facilities practical exercise immerses learners in a 3D virtual learning environment. Developed for an audience of military, civilian, and contractor personnel responsible for physical security, this exercise requires learners to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the types of storage facilities and containers used to protect assets vital to national security. The Special Access Program (SAP) Overview course reaches out to participants, through a dramatic opening trailer that immediately engages learners while stressing the role of SAPs in providing enhanced protection and enforcing strict need-to-know access for particularly sensitive information.
Since 1997, the Omni Awards have recognized the accomplishments of outstanding media production in an array of fields. Patterned after the Emmy Awards, the Omni Awards are determined by a panel of three peer professionals who judge each submission based upon a rigorous set of criteria.
