FRTIB Wins Silver Omni Intermedia Award

Alexandria, VA, February 28, 2011 – The Fall 2010 Omni Awards have been announced! Congratulations to the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB), which won a coveted silver Omni Intermedia Award in both the Government and Internal Communication award categories for its Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) website trailer. The TSP website trailer was judged based on the Omni Awards’ multimedia criteria, which include creativity, graphics, programming, ease of use, functionality, audio, special effects, and impact.

“We at Carney are honored by this recognition,” says John Carney, President and CEO of Carney, Inc. “The Thrift Savings Plan website trailer is a great example of how a brief, visually dynamic presentation can effectively help learners to gain insight and increase awareness.”

Produced by Carney in partnership with the FRTIB, the TSP website trailer offers TSP participants an overview of the plan’s new, updated website. Federal employees and members of the uniformed services are introduced to the site's upgraded functionality and the many options available for navigating the site. Frequently used links and options come alive as they pop from the screen to highlight the content available to plan participants.

Since 1997, the Omni Awards have recognized the accomplishments of outstanding media production in an array of fields. Patterned after the Emmy Awards, the Omni Awards are determined by a panel of three peer professionals who judge each submission based upon a rigorous set of criteria. In that way, winners have the distinction of being selected by their colleagues as an example of excellence. The Omni Awards proudly proclaims, “As a nationally known award competition, we have developed our reputation by awarding only those people who exemplify the highest standards of quality.”
