JAMtech Technology Workshop for High School Students Brings Top Talent to Carney, Inc.

Alexandria, VA, May 13, 2011 – Carney is pleased to announce their upcoming third annual JAMtech event scheduled for May 21, 2011. Aimed at junior and senior high school students from around the Northern Virginia area, the full day workshop allows participants to work closely with Carney digital artists and software engineers to design and develop their own web-based game. Space is limited to only the best and brightest students that show promise in the fields of new technologies and computer programming. Carney hosts the event at their Center for Performance Acceleration in Old Town Alexandria.

The JAMtech program is unique in that it allows Carney to move beyond typical hiring practices by offering high school technology internships to a select number of JAMtech participants. Candidates for these internships must participate in this program in order to qualify, allowing Carney to identify and mentor young talent as they move through their college careers and eventually enter today’s competitive workforce.

Carney is very proud of JAMtech as it highlights the company’s continued dedication to exploring innovative technologies we can bring to our creative solutions and identifying young talent for future growth of the organization. “JAMtech represents one of the many ground-breaking approaches Carney uses to offer our clients the most cutting-edge performance solutions in the marketplace”, says John Low, Chief Creative Officer with Carney, Inc. “This program allows us to create sustainable ties with top talent in the local area to help us grow and embrace new technical advancements. It’s a true win-win opportunity.”

As technology consistently changes, Carney continues to explore new advancements that support the training and performance needs of today’s Federal Government. Our clients need the most innovative solutions to engage and educate their employees. By looking for solutions outside of typical models, Carney can offer a wide variety of solutions that break the instructional design mold, such as augmented reality, mobile technologies, and serious games. JAMtech is one program that continues to keep Carney a step ahead of the competition. Interns have the unique opportunity to learn and grow with a company over time, marking Carney, Inc. as a go-to employer in the Northern Virginia area.
