Realize
Realize is Carney’s program to help employees realize their personal and professional potential. This program includes in-house training by internal experts and facilitators, as well as established public offerings. Topics include both career-related sessions and topics to assist people in their personal lives or personal areas of interest. The courses/sessions offered generally fall into one of six categories:
- Leadership Development
- Client Service
- Process Improvement/Technical Competency
- Winning New Business
- Interpersonal Competence
- Purple Crayon
The Purple Crayon category is designed to fulfill those areas that address the employee’s career or personal development areas of interest. This is taken from the book Harold and the Purple Crayon where we expect employees to create their own path. We are a strong proponent of first who, then what. This means we are looking to hire “A” players that can provide a unique value to Carney. Success at Carney will largely be based on an employee’s ability to create their own future. Carney will provide the tools, systems, and environment to allow success and employees will provide the drive, commitment, and ingenuity.
Paid time off
Carney provides 15 paid-time-off days (PTO) per year to full-time employees. These days may be used for vacation, personal illness, or time off to care for dependents.
Carney also offers 10 holidays per year, including eight "company holidays," when the office is closed, and two floating holidays. Floating holidays may be used to extend formally recognized holidays by a day or for observing a national or religious holiday not officially recognized by Carney.
401(k) with company match
Carney offers full-time employees the opportunity to contribute a portion of their eligible pay (up to the yearly federal limit) to a 401(k) plan beginning the first of the month following the hire date. Carney provides a company match of a certain percentage of employees' contributions.
Commuting subsidy
Carney offers a subsidy to help offset employees' cost of parking. Alternatively, Carney may provide employees metro credit that may be used toward the cost of public transportation. This benefit applies only to employees in the Alexandria office.
Tuition assistance
Carney provides tuition assistance to help team members develop career-relevant skills at accredited educational institutions.
