JAMtech
JAMtech was a huge hit Saturday, June 19th!
Like computer games? Like to code? Ever wanted to make your own game?
Join us at Carney Inc. headquarters in Old Town Alexandria for JAMtech on Saturday June 19th. Work with other students and Carney software engineers to design and program a Flash game in one day. JAMtech is open to Juniors and Seniors who want to:
- Design and program your own Flash game using Flixel
- Work with professional software engineers for a day
- Qualify for a shot at one of a limited number of Carney Internships this summer
JAMtech takes place over a single day and gives students an opportunity to design and build some kind of application, simulation, or serious game. Each JAMtech has a theme along with a software platform.
JAMtech takes place at the Carney Center for Performance Acceleration in Old Town Alexandria. Students will work in teams, along with a Carney software engineer.
Who Should Attend?
Open to juniors and seniors of local high schools, who are interested in new technology and computer programming.
What Skills Do I Need?
Ideally, you will have taken at least one programming class. Most area high schools offer Java programming classes. This is perfect, but if you have other programming skills, that's fine too!

- Java programming (or other programming language)
What Should I Bring?
If you are under 18, you will need your parent/guardian to sign the permission slip.
Teams will have access to workstations, and development software. On first arrival, participants will be assigned to a team and informed of the theme.
